Songs from Around the British Isles
Many thanks to the Chadsmoor Methodist Church family, for kindly allowing us to hold our concert: ‘Songs from around the British Isles’, at your beautiful church. The audience were taken on a journey around the Isles, through song. The programme concluded with choir and audience singing and flag waving, in a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ section. Sincere thanks go to the lovely audience and the many people who gave freely of their time, to make this concert happen.
Handel's Messiah at Easter
The choir, supported by fellow choristers from Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands, held a charity workshop singing highlights from Handel’s Messiah. Due to the generosity of members from all choirs and their families, past CCS members, and patrons, an astonishing £2225 was raised for Prostate Cancer UK. What a superb achievement! Huge thanks go to everyone who supported in any way, but in particular to Dr Paul Nevins, MD, and Harry, accompanist. A large cheque will be presented at CCS’s next concert held on Sat. June 13th at Chadsmoor Methodist Church, beginning at 7.00pm. Tickets are £8 and everyone is welcome.
